Why should children learn artificial intelligence? -AI4kids

AI is about to change the world, but who will change AI? — Fei-Fei Li, Professor at Stanford University

According to the AI4k12.org organization jointly formed by AAAI (Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence) and CSTA (Computer Science Teachers Association), in 2019, four reasons were put forward, calling for "now" to be the best time for K-12 children (K1 elementary school 1st grade to K12 high school 3rd grade) to learn AI artificial intelligence:

Reason 1: Artificial intelligence plays an increasingly important role in today's society, including mobile phone voice assistants, self-driving cars, and smart robots in the workplace (and sometimes in the home)

Reason 2: Future citizens need to understand the basics of how our society applies artificial intelligence and how to make important public policy decisions related to AI technology.

Reason three: Artificial intelligence technology will lead to unemployment in some fields and create new jobs in other fields.

Reason 4: Because society increasingly needs workers with AI knowledge, students should be encouraged to learn in a STEAM way from an early age.

Under the trend of AI, the Ministry of Education also added a "Science and Technology Curriculum Outline" to the 2012 National Education Curriculum, and added "Programming" as a compulsory course for junior and senior high schools in the new 108 curriculums, hoping to cultivate logical thinking, systematic thinking and other computational thinking through the learning of computer science related knowledge.
