In addition to being a competition venue for athletes, the Olympics has also long been a stage for countries around the world to show off their sports technology . As technology plays a key role in the outcome of sports events today, technological training has become a trend for athletes.

Professor Yi Zhiwei's team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University, supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology's Precision Sports Program , will lead students to gain an in-depth understanding of the application examples of AI in sports events, including intelligence search systems, smart ball-serving machines that simulate the skills of top players, and player positioning and landing point analysis. See how national players introduce AI technology into their training, allowing students to quickly get started in the field of smart sports, and complete their own AI sports big data projects through hackathon competitions.

Day 4: Badminton Big Data Group Competition

Q: What is the 2025 AI for Taiwan Special Practice Camp?

A: This series of activities is organized by AI4kids, MeDA Lab of National Taiwan University, Signal and Image Processing Laboratory of Department of Computer Science and Engineering of National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University, and Taipei Popular Music Center. It allows young people aged 15 to 19 to learn about the current application of AI in various professional fields in Taiwan through a four-day camp and visits to artificial intelligence sites, inspire young people's imagination of technology, and move towards cross-disciplinary learning.

Q: If I don’t have Python programming or AI foundation, can I still participate?

A: That’s fine! Before the event, we will provide each student with an 18-unit online Python programming basic course. After confirming your successful registration, the organizer will inform you of the online learning website and registration method via email, and you can learn Python online.

Q: Are students who already have a background in programming or AI suitable to participate?

A: This is an event for young people to stimulate, discuss and learn from each other. If you already have a background in programming or AI, this is great! You will have the opportunity to learn how to apply AI to the medical industry and communicate with industry lecturers and hospital doctors. This event hopes to create a platform for young people to understand the cross-domain applications of AI and a community exchange venue, so that each participant can get more innovative application ideas about artificial intelligence from others.

Q: What will I get after joining the camp?

A: Basic knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning, data in various subject areas, image collection and labeling process, AI model training or prediction implementation, the latest AI research and application, teamwork, special briefing preparation and results presentation, expert review feedback and camp completion certificate.

Q: What are the costs for camp activities?

A: Please refer to the registration page for the activity fee. Register before 11/31 to enjoy the early bird discount. You can also join a group with classmates to enjoy the preferential price: 10% off for a group of two, and 15% off for a group of four.

Q: Are there any discounts for poor students?

A: AI4kids provides a 50% registration fee reduction for 2 students per camp, limited to students from poor, lower-middle/low-income families, and students from families with special circumstances. Parents of students, please contact service@ai4kids.ai and provide relevant certification documents issued by the Social Affairs Bureau of the county or municipal government where your household registration is located, including those for poor, lower-middle/low-income, or families in special circumstances. We will have someone dedicated to assist you with registration.

Q: What should I do if I cannot attend due to some emergency after registering?

A: If you are unable to participate in the event after registering, please apply for a refund in the following ways:

(1) Cancellation of the course within 30 days before the start of the course after the registration is completed: 70% of the course fee will be refunded

(2) After completing the registration process, cancel the course 30 days to 7 days before the start of the course: 50% of the course fee will be refunded

(3) After completing the registration process, within 7 days before the course starts: you cannot cancel the course

Q: Do you provide transportation and accommodation during the camp?

A: The camp fee does not include transportation and accommodation, but we provide "accommodation booking" service. Please fill in the accommodation requirements on the registration form, thank you.

Accommodation in Hsinchu: Yangming Jiaotong University Guesthouse, 1,200 yuan per person per day, 3,600 yuan for four days and three nights (booking is full, reservations will be closed from 1/9)

Each room is occupied by 2 to 4 people, with separate dormitories for males and females. After registering and booking accommodation, parents will be notified to pay separately once the reservation is confirmed.
