How will artificial intelligence develop in the next 10 years? What impact will it have on your life and mine? - AI4kids

Artificial Intelligence and Our Future

Artificial intelligence will be relevant to all industries in the future. It is good at handling repetitive tasks and large amounts of data, especially workloads that humans cannot afford. AI can not only complete the processing in an instant, but also find errors and problems one step ahead. Such excellent assistants may indeed replace humans one day, causing some people to lose their jobs. However, artificial intelligence cannot replace human creativity and thinking, nor can it form a close emotional connection with people. Therefore, we need to learn the knowledge and skills of artificial intelligence and use the high efficiency of artificial intelligence to complete many tasks. Of course, it may also create more new jobs!

The future of human-machine collaboration

“Human-machine collaboration” refers to humans working together with intelligent machines or computers. In the future, "human-machine collaboration" will inevitably occur in our work field. Using artificial intelligence to improve efficiency, such as diagnosing diseases, translating, and providing customer responses, can completely change the way we work and assist and expand people's capabilities. Through this collaborative intelligence, humans and artificial intelligence can enhance and complement each other. The advantages of both sides include leadership, teamwork, creativity, and social skills for humans; and speed, scalability, and quantification capabilities for artificial intelligence. Both of these capabilities are what future companies will need.

AI brings more ethical challenges

If AI will change the world, who will constrain AI? Artificial intelligence machine learning technology collects a large amount of data for learning, but if the collected data is biased, or the algorithm is determined by only a few specific people, and the process is not transparent and cannot be held accountable, it will cause potential moral risks. For example, AI may be involved in corporate recruitment, financial lending, and judicial decisions. If a company uses biased AI and decides not to hire women as programmers; if a bank uses racially discriminatory AI and decides not to lend to people of color; if a prison uses biased AI and decides not to grant parole to prisoners, etc., all of these situations are possible or are happening.

From this we can see that biased artificial intelligence not only affects our daily lives, but is also likely to cause others and ourselves to be treated unequally through its use or arbitrary labeling without our awareness.
