Core Concepts of AI Education
The future society will be an era full of artificial intelligence applications. Intelligent machines need multiple types of knowledge to interact naturally with humans. Computers integrate multiple types of artificial intelligence, such as image recognition, voice recognition, automated robots, etc., to achieve natural interaction with humans. Let children actually come into contact with smart machines and equipment, understand the operating principles behind robots, and know their limitations.
AI interactions and impacts in daily life
● Artificial intelligence is changing business, healthcare, education, and government ● Use of AI can drive new services or make businesses more efficient and economies more robust ● Humans make many technical and ethical decisions when developing AI ● Artificial intelligence affects communities and people in different ways ● AI systems that make decisions about people need ethical standards ● Artificial intelligence and robotics will change the way people work, creating new jobs and eliminating some
Why is AI education needed?
PwC estimates that artificial intelligence and automation will replace approximately 38% of jobs in the United States. On the other hand, this technological revolution also has positive effects. With the rise of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the number of start-ups has increased by 1,400%.
Today, society is paying more and more attention to big data and R programming language, and the amount of big data information is also growing at an alarming rate. The New York Times published an article that calculated that the average annual salary of an AI expert in the United States is more than $300,000, and the industry's demand for engineers specializing in AI and machine learning is also gradually increasing.
Under the trend of AI, the Ministry of Education also added a "Science and Technology Curriculum Outline" to the 2012 National Education Curriculum, and added "Programming" as a compulsory course for junior and senior high schools in the new 108 curriculums, hoping to cultivate logical thinking, systematic thinking and other computational thinking through the learning of computer science related knowledge.

Steps and ideas for AI education
AI education for first and second graders in elementary school:
● Identify words with positive and negative connotations in a story● Identify facial expressions and label them as appropriate emotions (happy, sad, angry), and explain the criteria for labeling● Use software that can recognize facial emotions● Identify common AI applications in daily life● Discuss whether the widespread use of AI technology is positive or negative
AI education for third to sixth graders in elementary school:
● Model how humans combine multiple inputs (voice pitch, facial expressions, gestures, etc.) to communicate ● Describe where AI outperforms humans and where it falls short ● Explore how behavior is influenced by bias and how it affects decision making ● Describe ways to design AI systems for inclusion
AI education for junior high school students from grade 1 to grade 3:
● Build a simple chatbot ● Explain and give examples of linguistic ambiguity ● Learn how to determine if a robot is intelligent ● Explain the potential biases of artificial intelligence when making decisions ● Understand the trade-offs and decision-making methods in AI system design, as well as possible unintended consequences
AI education for high school students in grades 1 to 3:
● Demonstrate how a sentence parser handles ambiguity● Explore the Google Knowledge Graph ● Identify and debate AI issues and the question of whether AI is conscious● Explore the positive and negative effects of artificial intelligence systems ● Design an AI system to address a social problem (or illustrate how AI can be used to solve a social problem
AI education starts at an early age - How to teach children about topics such as artificial intelligence and machine learning?
Inspire children to learn machine learning and AI through free online resources.

AI Education APP Recommendation
【APP:1】Pika
Pika : Pika is a fun kids camera app where kids take pictures of different colors and teach the robot to recognize those colors. There are many levels for children to challenge, so that they can like this program and learn about AI artificial intelligence at the same time. Plus, badges are earned for each milestone achieved, encouraging them to continue learning.
【APP:2】Machine Learning for Kids
【APP:Three】Dalton Learning Lab
Dalton Learning Lab : Provides many tools to help parents understand AI artificial intelligence and machine learning. As long as you register an account on the website, you can use Scratch for free.
【APP:4】Kano Computing
Kano Computing : The Kano Computing guide helps children develop their own version of a computer, and then they need to write programs to make the computer complete designated tasks.
【APP: Five】VIPER
VIPER : Wonderville has launched a game called Viper that allows children to learn machine learning concepts in a fun way. In the game, children will program a robot to explore Europa (one of Jupiter’s natural satellites). Register now for a 15-day free trial.
By the time your children are grown and ready to enter the workforce, artificial intelligence and machine learning may be more mature.
What is "more mature"? As surprising as it may sound, artificial intelligence and machine learning are still in their infancy, but it’s also true. The full potential of AI and machine learning has yet to be seen.
As a parent, it would be wise to start teaching your children about artificial intelligence and machine learning to secure their future. Even if your child doesn't plan to work in the computer science field, having a basic knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning can help them gain points when looking for other jobs.
