Taiwan athletes won outstanding results
The results of the "Code Quest Global Competition 2021 ", known as the Youth Programming World Cup , have been announced. 3,400 contestants from 70 countries and regions around the world participated in the competition. Among them, the first and second place in the global first prize national group were won by Taiwanese contestants Zhang Chengliang and Zheng Pinyuan respectively.
The Code Quest global competition has been held three times so far and is hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the "World Cup of Global Youth Programming". The competition adopts an algorithm competition mode and lasts for one month. Players can adjust their strategies and algorithms within the time limit and continuously optimize their codes to improve their rankings in the global rankings.
Nearly 30 Taiwanese players participated in this competition. Among them, Zhang Chengliang from Weige Elementary School won the first place in the elementary school group with a winning rate of 98.23%, while Zheng Pinyuan from Yuansheng Elementary School won the second place with a winning rate of 98.13%. In their acceptance speeches, the two contestants not only expressed their joy for participating in the competition, but also mentioned that they gained a great sense of accomplishment in the process of learning programming, and will continue to use the Code Combat programming platform to improve their programming skills in the future.
In recent years, CodeQuest has set off a craze for learning programming, and the number of participants has continued to rise. Including qualifiers around the world, the cumulative number of participants has exceeded 1 million. Code Quest is currently one of the most participated youth programming competitions in the world. Taiwan also selects contestants to participate in Code Quest through the Youth Programming Competition hosted by AI4kids every season, pushing Taiwanese contestants to the world stage to compete with global players and strive for world rankings.
